Make an agreement

An author whose work (at least one) has been published, announced or publicly performed in mechanical recording may conclude an authorization agreement with AKKA/LAA for the management of his/her economic rights. By doing so, the author transfers his/her exclusive rights to AKKA/LAA.

Exclusive rights are the exclusive rights of the author to decide who will use the work publicly, to adapt, arrange or otherwise adapt it, to import copies of the work, or to publicly rent or lend the original or copies of the work, and to collect remuneration for permission to use the work and for the use of the work. The author may exercise the exclusive rights himself or may authorize someone else – usually a copyright organization.

After the conclusion of the contract, the AKKA/LAA association acts on behalf of and in the interests of the author as the author's official representative.

When concluding a contract, the author has the right to choose which types of work to place under the supervision of AKKA/LAA and which to keep at his own disposal, which means that their use will be managed and remuneration will be collected by the author himself.

The author's contract can be concluded electronically or at the AKKA/LAA office, bringing your passport or personal identification card.

In case of questions or uncertainties, please contact AKKA/LAA by e-mail info@akka-laa.lv or call the Authors' Department: 67506426 or 26116669.
