Introduction

If you wish to use protected musical or dramatic musical works in public performances, for recording, broadcasting, posting on the Internet, a licence is necessary.

Copyright is valid during the author’s life and expires 70 years after the author’s death.

The Copyright Law stipulates: the licence shall be obtained prior to use of works. It is prohibited to use works without permission.

In order to clarify the royalties demanded by the author and other conditions, theatre companies should file for permission to use works before production. The author may allow or prohibit staging of his/her work.
